The Undergraduate Business Society’s Careers In Business Fair, hosted in partnership with the UCLA Career Center, is the only recruitment-focused career fair at UCLA dedicated to connecting UCLA students with recruiters in a wide variety of Business Industries like Banking, Marketing, Human Resources, Public Relations, and more!

This event historically draws nearly 20 firms and 300 students every Winter, providing the optimal opportunity for UCLA’s top candidates to meet and network with firms. Organizations in attendance typically recruit for full-time and internship positions within business services.

Past firms in attendance include: KPMG, Mercer, HKA, McKinsey & Company, Alvarez & Marsal, MUFG, Panda Restaurant Group, Bain and Company.

Preparing for the Career Fair:
While you’re at the Career Fair, you will have the opportunity to browse attending firms and choose which tables you would like to visit for a chat. When you approach a table, you should be prepared with:

• A self-introduction

  • Include your name, year in school, major, and the types of positions you’re pursuing

• A value proposition

  • What makes you stand out from others they may be speaking to that night? This is your chance to highlight a key achievement, experience, or leadership position. If nothing is leaping to mind, put yourself ahead by talking with the rep about why / how you are genuinely interested in the firm.

• An ask – what do you want from the interaction?

  • Any great elevator pitch includes a clear call to action for the listener. Determine what you want to gain from the interaction, and ask for it! Curious about internship opportunities? Want tips for submitting a stand-out application? Now is the perfect time to ask.

It’s important to remember that Career Fairs aren’t as formal as interviews, rather they are designed to facilitate conversations where you can learn more about internship and job opportunities and ask questions about working at the firm.
