MEET OUR LEADERS

EXECUTIVE BOARD

CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Career Development hosts a variety of events including the Fall Business Showcase, the Career Development Workshop, the Careers in Business Fair. The Fall Business Showcase is designed to introduce new business students to the resources, opportunities and organizations that are available to them at UCLA. The Career Development Workshop is a multi-week series of sessions throughout the fall quarter that introduces students to various careers in business and assists with aspects around finding internships. The Careers in Business Fair is held in late January and draws over 50 firms and 500 students every year. The committee handles all aspects of the event in partnership with the UCLA Career Center which includes corporate correspondence, event logistics, and publicity.

CONSULTING

Consulting coordinates the Consulting Panel, Consulting Night, and other corporate events for firms in the industry, including sponsored consulting case competitions. The committee establishes corporate relations, increases corporate sponsorship, and assists undergraduates in their job search. The committee also hosts a six-week long Consulting Spring Training during the spring quarter that provides an introduction to the consulting recruiting timeline for rising juniors and prepares them for the competitive case interview recruiting process.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Financial Services coordinates the annual Financial Services Night as well as other corporate and educational events relating to finance and investing. The committee also hosts a 6-week-long Excel and Financial Modeling Workshop that teaches students the basic skills necessary to secure a job in financial services. The committee is also responsible for establishing and maintaining corporate relations and sponsorship on behalf of UBS.

INVESTMENT BANKING

The Investment Banking Committee coordinates the annual Investment Banking Workshop and other corporate and educational events related to corporate finance. The 16-week Investment Banking Workshop during the Winter and Spring Quarter helps prepare sophomores for the competitive interview recruiting process. The committee establishes corporate relations and increases corporate sponsorship with top investment banking firms.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

The Leadership Development committee coordinates two major mentorship programs; the Anderson Mentorship Program and the cUBS Mentorship Program. The committee works closely with current Anderson students to sign up mentors and coordinate initiatives to facilitate strong mentor-mentee connections. The cUBS program matches current UBS board members with committee members to help develop younger members by guiding them through the business landscape in and out of UCLA. The committee holds various leadership panels throughout the year, highlighting students and alumni in executive leadership roles. They also co-host a 4-week workshop with Anderson that helps students learn public speaking, networking, and general leadership skills.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Public Relations is responsible for maintaining UBS's brand image and relations with firms and students. They expand and strengthen UBS’s professional relationships with current sponsors as well as address all new corporate inquires. The committee works to increase UBS's visibility among the undergraduate student population and grow UBS's membership list. They also develop and implement new and innovative marketing strategies, social media campaigns and curate the bi-weekly newsletter for the many events that UBS hosts. 

Technology

The Technology Committee leads UBS’s events and programs that cover everything in the intersection of technology and business. In the last year, Tech has organized the Startup Founder Panel, Venture Capital 101, and Exploring AI in Business panel. In addition, the committee is responsible for building relations with technology firms to host industry-focused career fairs and aid in the undergraduate recruitment processes for product management and business-focused roles at technology companies.
